Meet Whitney, Premier’s newest Certified Nurse Midwife!

​

Whitney earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2011. Her nursing career started in the emergency department, where she grew from a new grad nurse to an experienced RN. Her time in the ED created a strong foundation rooted in acute care.  

With a lifelong passion for caring for women and infants, Whitney transitioned to labor and delivery, where she spent 13 years at one of the Valley’s busiest hospitals. These years in L&D, combined with her own personal experiences with pregnancy and birth, inspired her to pursue midwifery and deepen her commitment to women’s health.

In 2025, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and joined Premier OBGYN after completing her clinical training with their team. She is grateful to practice in a setting that aligns with her own commitment to personalized midwifery care. Her special interests include working with patients who use substances and empowering them with nonjudgmental, compassionate care; encouraging physiologic birth to unfold with low intervention and undisturbed support; and allying and advocating for Black maternal health to reduce disparities in maternal health outcomes.

Outside of work, Whitney enjoys exploring Arizona on day trips with her partner, being a mom to her three amazing children, cooking yummy meals in the kitchen, hitting the thrift stores, and getting lost in a good book.
