Melissa Andersson, a Board Certified Nurse Midwife, graduated from Arizona State University in 2022 with her bachelor's degree in nursing and Bethel University with her Master’s Degree in Midwifery in 2025.  With years of experience as a birth doula, breastfeeding counsellor, and labor and delivery nurse with Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, Melissa brings a strong foundation of birth experience to her advanced degree in women’s health. 

Melissa completed clinical hours as a midwifery student with our practice, as well as in an out of hospital birth center setting and combines the two experiences in her practice.  She believes families can experience the beauty and self-determination of out of hospital birth inside the safety and comfort of the hospital.  Combining the science and knowledge of an advanced degree with the trust in women and families to make informed decisions, Melissa believes that Premier OBGYN can offer the best of both worlds to our community.

Melissa is married to her husband of nearly 24 years and has three daughters ages 18, 15, and 9, as well as a St. Berdoodle named Lucy and a devious, orange cat named Theo. She enjoys lifting weights, running, hiking, and, most of all, traveling.
